Today we had to say goodbye to Harri.. Was not easy, we tend to get attached to our guys that come and stay with us that when it comes time to say goodbye, it feels as if we are saying goodbye to a member of our bushveld family.
Harri, we pray that you travelle home safe and we hope to hear from you soon.DSCF2530

a-D---H-3.JPGFor the past three months we have had a very special lady staying with us at African Dream Horse Safari. Harri arrived in November 2009 as a student and in a very short time became a firm member of our special bushveld family.

During the last couple of months we have been keeping Harri very busy with all sorts of activities to fill her day such as, schooling horses, competing in a eventing show, bush work, lion capture, picking Shannon up from school, back up guide on horse trails, swimming in the dam and helping at every opportunity when help was needed. There was not a day when her positive attitude and  happy smile were not part of our day.

Harri you will be leaving us on Thursday and you have no idea how much you will be missed by everyone at African Dream .... we know you will be back so it is not good bye but see you later (or as you so beautifully put it .. "see you just now now now bru!"

Had amazing day swimming with the horses at the dam which is a 15min ride from the stables. It was too hot for ridding lessons so we were very happy when Terry and Traci cancelled lessons and took us for our first swimming experience with the horses. It was AWESOME

Saturdays Horse safari turned out to be one for the books.
We set off late in the afternoon to avoid the harsh African sun,
Harry (our volunteer from England) has improved with her
"back- up" trail rider skills so much since she has been working
with us at African Dream Horse safari. I know that if we are out
riding in the wild African bush, she is always aware and ready to
tack on any situation.

We made our way through the bush, on our regular trial, keeping
a keen eye out for any of the wild animals we were expecting to see.
The bush is so lush and green at the moment, all the wildlife are looking
very fat and healthy and can melt into the bush at any given moment.

During our trail we saw so many magnificent creatures great and small. Our client
DSC01932.JPG could not stop smiling for the full two and half hours that we were out with the
horses.

I would like to congratulate the African Dream Horse Safari Team one another
successful African Adventure.

2009 proved to be a very successful year for the Wildlife Equestrian Centre riders, we are very proud of all of them and wish them all the best for 2010.

Our riders travelled all over the country last year to compete in Horse Shows. They travelled all the way to Swaziland, Johannesburg and Pietersburg.

The new year year is going to start with the SANEF school league, we will be taking all our school league riders all the way to Vevo, near Alldays, an hour past Pietersburg. We are very excited about this new venture and wish our talented young riders all the best for the show.
